Daily caps, tighter premium weekly caps, and updated Reset Pass benefits apply on October 15, including during existing billing cycles. Review the full changes before subscribing.

The short version

Cursor is a strong fit when its editor, Tab completion, and agents are central to your workflow. DevPass suits developers who want one metered allowance across compatible tools. They can also work together for supported chat requests, but a DevPass key does not replace Cursor’s built-in features or every Cursor charge.

Cursor pricing has more than one usage pool

Cursor’s individual monthly plans are Pro at $20, Pro+ at $60, and Ultra at $200. Its current documentation separates Cursor-model usage from other-model usage; the dashboard shows remaining usage in each pool. A free tier is available, and India has a separate Start plan. See the pricing page and usage documentation.

Teams Standard costs $40 per user/month and Premium $120. Teams and Enterprise add a $0.25 per million token Cursor Token Rate to third-party model usage, including BYOK, on top of provider charges. Eligible regional data residency adds 10%. These are different economics from an individual subscription.

What a custom key replaces

Cursor supports custom keys for eligible chat requests. They do not power Tab completion, and provider/model restrictions still apply. Keys and requests pass through Cursor’s infrastructure. Read its API-key guidance before treating BYOK as a complete subscription replacement.

Choose Cursor for its integrated editor and agent workflow. Choose DevPass for a shared model allowance across your compatible coding tools. Neither plan guarantees that the same task costs less: cache use, model choice, and token consumption decide that.

DevPass pricing and limits

DevPass costs $29/month for Lite, $79 for Pro, or $179 for Max, for one developer. As of September 27, these plans include $87, $237, and $537 of monthly model usage respectively, with separate premium weekly fair-use limits. Optional pay-as-you-go overflow costs extra.

Plan changes start October 15, 2026: new subscriptions begin at 2× the plan price in monthly usage; existing subscriptions move to 2× at their first renewal on or after that date. Daily caps, tighter premium weekly caps, and revised Reset Pass benefits take effect October 15, including within existing billing cycles. Read the plan-change terms before subscribing.

Compare the live coding catalog and plan details. Client support depends on the API and custom-endpoint features of the coding tool; a DevPass key does not unlock every feature of a third-party editor.

Frequently asked questions

Is DevPass cheaper than Cursor?

Not automatically. Cursor Pro starts at $20/month, below DevPass Lite at $29. Compare your actual model mix, usage limits, and the value of Cursor’s editor features.

Can I use DevPass in Cursor?

For chat features that support the relevant custom endpoint and model. Cursor’s own Tab and specialized features do not run on a custom key. Teams and Enterprise also apply Cursor Token Rate charges to third-party model tokens, including BYOK.

Does Cursor only work inside its editor?

No. Cursor also offers a CLI, SDK, cloud agents, and automations. Its plan pools and feature limits apply across supported surfaces.
